X-Ray/Radiologic Technician

Description

X-Ray/Radiologic Technicians are responsible for working closely with patients and taking X-ray exams in the treatment rooms. X-Ray/Radiologic Technicians are expected to have a good understanding of body mechanics/patient movement, as well as the safety hazards common to radiology. Applicants must be able to follow instructions and standardized work practices and communicate clearly, as well establishing and maintaining effective relationships with staff, patients, and families.


Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

•   Preparing patients for radiologic procedures

•   Taking x-rays, following established procedures for patient care and safety

•   Preparing contract media and barium

•   Ensuring equipment is in working order; reporting any equipment malfunctions to supervisor

•   Recording radiologic procedures in logs

•   Maintaining examination rooms; stocking necessary medical and radiologic supplies

•   Developing and processing radiologic film


Experience

Minimum of one year experience preferred


License/Certification

Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
