Patient Care Coordinator
Description
The Patient Care Coordinator directs, supervises and coordinates scheduling and personnel related issues for the office. Applicants should be able to multi-task, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be detail-oriented. Applicants are expected to exercise initiative and prioritize changing situations in a calm and professional manner. Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Greeting patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner
• Serving as the primary contact person for issues concerning patient coordinator management
• Answering telephones, taking messages, and directing calls to appropriate areas
• Maintaining appointment schedule by following office-scheduling policies
• Typing correspondence as directed; delivering mail, medical records, and other correspondence
• Ensuring that office space, supplies, and assistance is provided and maintained appropriately for medical staff and patient care
• Billing and following-up of assigned financial classes to ensure timely payment from insurance companies and patients
• Verifying eligibility, benefits and appropriate co-payments to ensure that only covered services, less co-payments and adjustments, are paid
• Resolving work problems to ensure quality patient service
• Maintaining a neat and orderly work area
Experience
One year work experience in a medical office setting preferred
