Ophthalmology Technicians assist the Optometrist in performing routine examinations and minor surgical procedures. Applicants are expected to demonstrate problem solving and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize issues in a timely matter. They must be able to follow instructions/standardized work practices and communicate clearly, as well as establishing effective relationships with staff, patients, and their families. Viable candidates must have a strong understanding of equipment safety and maintenance, and be able to illustrate professional judgment at all times.​

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

•   Answering phones, checking messages, making appointments, and taking payments

•   Preparing examination and treatment rooms

•   Cleaning and maintaining ophthalmic instruments

•   Assisting physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures

•   Handling drug refills/e-prescribes
•   Insurance verifications

•   Authorization and referrals

Medical office experience preferred

EMR experience is ideal
