Dental Assistant

Description

Dental Assistants help doctors deliver primary health care and patient care management. They must be able to prioritize and adapt to changing situations in a calm and professional manner. Applicants should have strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. They should also be able to multi-task, while being detail-oriented at the same time. Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

•   Assisting the dentist during examination and treatment

•   Reassuring and comforting patients, especially children

•   Delivering post-operative instructions clearly

•   Counseling patients and parents on proper oral hygiene and plaque control

•   Answering phones, scheduling appointments, performing insurance verifications

•   Other front office/administrative tasks as needed


Experience

One year experience in a dental office preferred


License/Certification

California licensed Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) preferred
